With most of my family living so far away, I tend to give a lot of gift cards during the holidays. It’s just the most practical thing to do during this time of year, when I always find myself short on time, and wanting to avoid crowded malls (and post offices) at all costs. Giving a gift card can eliminate added stress and worry while making it easy for the recipient to get exactly what they want!
This year, First Data, a global technology and payments processing leader, provides innovative ways to turn an unexciting card into a thoughtful gift. From a Williams & Sonoma gift card paired with holiday cookie cutters for the family baker to an iTunes gift card, packaged with a workout playlist and water bottle for your fitness fanatic, First Data offers original ideas for everyone on your list.
To make holiday gift giving even easier, First Data recently launched eGift Social, a Facebook application that allows you to send a real gift, redeemable at multiple retailers, including Cold Stone, Culver’s, Kmart, Dots, Sears, Burger King, Boston Market and Joe’s Crab Shack. Easy to use, eGift Social creates a unique alternative with convenient, customizable virtual gifts that can be obtained through your web-enabled mobile phone or a Facebook message.
The new eGift Social Facebook app makes it easy to send a gift when on the road or in a hurry. You simply choose what you want to give, picking a gift from many of your favorite stores. Then you select which friend(s) you’d like to send gifts to. Lastly, you choose where you want to send the gift – via email or Facebook. The recipient is sent a simple code that can be redeemed at any location, which means they can pull up their activation code on their phone or online to use no matter where they live. I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of First Data and received an eGift gift card to thank me for taking the time to participate.
