One of the few things that my daughters and I agree on? That there’s no better way to start off the day than with an ice-cold glass of milk. But it’s not only a breakfast drink.
According to a new survey conducted by the national Milk Mustache “got milk?” Campaign, more than 1,000 moms across the U.S. reported fruit drinks and slushies among their children’s top summertime drinks. With 84% of Moms looking for healthy beverage alternatives, it’s even more important to also incorporate milk into meals and snack times.
My favorite smoothie recipe is so simple. I combine a banana, a cup of milk, and a handful of ice cubes until well-blended. Then I add a few squirts of honey and blend again until it’s mixed in. So easy, yet super delicious and refreshing.
And did I mention affordable? An eight-ounce serving of milk costs less than 25 cents on a gallon basis. Plus, milk provides 9 essential nutrients. More per penny than almost any other beverage option in the supermarket. This makes it a nutritional bargain!

And can I say how much I love the got milk commercials and milk mustache ads? They always puts a smile on my face. Such a great example for kids!
