I love a fun handbag… something that reflects my personality, is fresh and new, and seasonally appropriate. This is why I liked Initials, Inc. the moment I first browsed through their catalog! The company celebrates the fact that “There’s only one you!” with a unique personalized product line.
Initials, Inc. was founded by Sisters – Britney Vickery and Ivy Hall shortly after becoming stay-at-home moms. During that time they loved being home with their children but found that they were seeking three things; to be challenged creatively, to have flexibility in schedule and to contribute financially to their homes…but they didn’t want to give up time with their young families to get it. Initials, Inc. was created to meet those needs as women and new mothers. Over time, they quickly realized that the solution that they created for themselves could be a blessing to other women. Officially launched in February 2005, today, Initials, Inc. is national in scope and is supporting women and families all across the country through home parties selling personalized gifts!
The buying experience is a lot of fun. First you have to select the bag style and fabric. There are so many different bags to choose from, so this is tough. 😉 I found myself circling at least one product I liked on every page. Once you have chosen which bag you’d like, you get to customize it! Choose whether you’d like an initial, monogram, or name/phrase, then select from 9 different fonts and 29 embroidery colors. You can also add trim to certain bags, in the form of ribbon or fluff. Very cute!
I chose the Hippie Chic bag (on page 10 in the catalog) since I was actually looking for something big enough – but not too big – to carry my iPad in. This seemed perfect, and it is, as you can see in the photos. I chose the Oasis fabric and my name is embroidered in Sky using the Doodle font. With the adjustable 58″ strap, I can wear this bag over my shoulder or across my body. Inside, it has two small open pockets and a zippered pocket. Outside it has one large pocket with a magnetic closure. With customization included in the price, I find it to be a good value at $39.99.
