To quote Seinfeld:
“… Men wear their underwear until it absolutely disintegrates. Men hang on to underwear until each individual underwear molecule is so strained it can barely retain the properties of a solid. It actually becomes underwear vapor. We don’t even throw it out, we just open a window and it goes out like dandelion spores. That’s how men throw out underwear… we just go (blows on the mic) and it’s gone.”
Like most men, I imagine, my husband won’t throw out his old, holey underwear, socks, or t-shirts. I have to secretly make these undergarments disappear, because if he happens to see something in the trash… well, odds are he’ll dig it out! I just don’t get it. He has a fairly small dresser, and right now his underwear drawer is over-stuffed with boxers and briefs that have seen better days. To top it off, he’s lost about 25 lbs this year, so that ratty underwear he loves is SO baggy, barely hanging on to his skinny bum. His drawer (and drawers) need a makeover badly!
But of course the only way this will happen is if I buy him new underwear myself!
So my daughter and I stopped by Kmart over the weekend to check out the MaLo underwear line by Mario Lopez. She’s going to be buying undies for her significant other eventually, so why not start her off early!
You can’t miss the MaLo signage at the store. Trust me.
The first two letters of Mario’s first and last names put together, “malo” translates to “bad” in Spanish.
With his new line, Mario wants men to know that it’s okay to be a little bad, and let me tell you… he has not aged one bit since Saved by the Bell, so I have to agree with him!
The MaLo line features briefs, boxer briefs, and crew neck tees at very reasonable prices. I chose the boxer briefs, 3 to a package, because they look the most unique, available in both neutral and more vivid colors with contrasting waistbands.
And my husband approves! After trying on pair, he said they’re comfy, and that seems to be all that matters to him. The boxer briefs are 95% cotton, snug-fitting, and look good. Let’s just say I wouldn’t cover my eyes if he walks around the house in these!
Out go the old, torn, faded briefs…
To make space for the new MaLo boxer briefs. Drawer makeover complete.
